Program Type:
Youth ProgramProgram Description
Event Details
Learn to play the ukulele, a stringed instrument which is similar to a guitar. Music teacher Yael Rothfeld will teach you basic chords, patterns, and rhythms to play several songs. This is a beginner’s workshop, and no music experience is needed. Each child will receive their own ukulele to practice on during the class, but will have to return it at the end.
Priority registration will be given to Troy Public Library card holders. If you do not have a TPL issued library card, you can register without a card to be put on the Pending Waitlist. If there is space available one week before the program, you will be moved to the main registration list and notified.

Registrant Age/Grade
Ages and grades are strictly enforced: to allow each child to feel successful, provide the best experience for all attendees, and offer opportunities for social and emotional growth within peer groups, children who are not in the correct grade or age-group for this program will be turned away at the door.
Unattended Child Policy
All children ages 12 and younger must be in the company of a parent/adult care-giver at all times while in the library. Even if the child is attending a program, it is required that the parent/adult caregiver remain in the library building throughout the program.
