Join a local chef/former restaurant owner and mom to active pre-teens as we discuss and taste delicious food that fuels our bodies and minds. Students will learn easy-to-prepare dishes that they can use as a foundation for their cooking journey. Knowing the skill of cooking and nutritional basics is empowering for young people as they transition to more independent lifestyles. A well-rounded and tasty pasta dish, salad and treat will be served. Chef Nicole will be discussing different fruits, vegetables, proteins and health carbohydrate options that will appeal to young palettes. She will also be demonstrating the dishes and going over basic cooking skills and kitchen safety. Students can practice some knife skills also, but please leave the knives at home. The chef will have some tools for everyone to use. For grades 6-12
