Beginning with the earliest museums of the Renaissance, this discussion traces the development of public art institutions from the “wonder rooms” of the Age of Exploration up through modern times—including the discovery of ancient world’s only known museum in 6th-century BC Mesopotamia. (Part III of the "Talk Arty to Me" series by artist, author and lecturer Gene Wisniewski.)
