Program Description

Event Details

Founded in 1850 by German immigrant Bernhard Stroh, Detroit’s Stroh Brewery Company created classic Michigan beers using recipes developed in Germany. Originally sold door-to-door in a wheelbarrow, the beer quickly became a Detroit staple, making Stroh’s the largest beer producer in Detroit by the turn of the century. Join Jeremy Dimick, Director of Collections for the Detroit Historical Society, for a fascinating look at this iconic Detroit brewer.
