Spend the evening with Detroit born author and poet Barbara Henning. Barbara will discuss her book, Ferne: A Detroit Story, selected as a 2023 Michigan Notable Book by the Library of Michigan. A stunning biography of her mother’s life, hear how she weaved together family photos, newspaper clippings and extracts from historical sources in 1920s through 1950s Detroit to tell Ferne’s story.
