Join food historian Sarah Wassberg Johnson as she explains the difference between hot chocolate and hot cocoa, hot chocolate's religious history and Indigenous origins, how it became a popular breakfast food, and why Victorian and Progressive Era Americans wanted kids to drink more of it. Along the way we’ll meet Dr. James Baker, Domingo Ghirardelli, Samuel German, Milton Hershey, and other American chocolatiers.
