Winner of the 2021 Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film, "Gradually, Then Suddenly" is is the inside story of how a state-appointed Emergency Manager and the people of Detroit -- confronting financial ruin --followed a treacherous path towards a new beginning for an iconic American city. Screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film's director, James McGovern.
