Journey through Detroit’s Prohibition era, a time of speakeasies, bootleggers, and underground smuggling across the Detroit River. This lecture examines the city’s role as a major smuggling hub and the impact of the 18th Amendment on Detroit’s society and economy. Learn how Prohibition shaped Detroit’s culture, sparking a legacy that still lingers in its history today.

Priority registration will be given to Troy Public Library card holders. If you do not have a TPL issued library card, you can register without a card to be put on the Pending Waitlist.
